my first Sloughi

by Ivonne Mosch

(deutsche Version)

Dear Sloughi-friends,

photo: I. Mosch

I was asked to report something about my nice Hound-life.

Let me introduce myself, first. My name is Jamal Min Darazja Loewwla. I was born on November 4th, 1996 in the Netherlands at the breeder van Rij/van Baarle. Tabrik Nuri al Baida is my father and my mother is El Massouda Min Darazja Loewwla. I think I may say that I am a good-looking and sporting young lad. I am 73 cm tall (shoulder) and have a weight of 35 kg. There is no flemish on my body but slowly I am getting grey. Isn't that annoying?

Up to now I could enjoy my life thoroughly. I am coddled and sporting motivated by everybody. My family cycles with me. At least three or for times a week we go jogging through the woods or along the river Rur. Be amazed or not but I move on mostly without my bothersome lead!

photo: I. MoschUsually I enjoy the silence on my couch and the fresh air in the garden which I share with rabbits and guinea-pigs. I am very modest. You don't hear me, if it has to be, the whole day. But as a watch-dog I am very useful!!!

In the evening at about half past five I get my food, which is always very well prepared. Besides my main food I also get diversified mixed feed. Sometimes it is canned food (for cats certainly), then fresh chicken-soup, boiled vegetables, noodles and potatoes are on the menue. For breakfast I often get bread and butter, cut into small pieces, by choice with cheese, honey or liver-wurst. I also like curds with eggs for breakfast. As you can read, I am well, aren't I?

They don't take me to exhibitions. Thank goodness...such a stress!!! Though I certainly would have got many a prize.

photo: I. MoschIf you think of mine running-speed, recently I performed a race with mountain-bikers, whereby I gave them a long distance advantage, out of politeness. We ran down-hill, full speed, but "The winner was..."

I like to be "just" a family-dog, and I hope that I may enjoy it for many years. Now, did I forget anything? I don't think so. I should like to say good-bye now, as a full programme is announced. Let me get a deep breath of fresh air once more, and then fire away!!!

Love

Yours Jami
