Sloughi & Art

In edition 2 of "Sloughi
World" we reported about the Art-project "Aussendienst"
(outside duty) in Hamburg. This time we have a glimpse behind the scenes.
Sloughi world questioned the breeder of the two Models, Gisela
Walden, "Min Ahrar al Maghrib" Sloughis.
Being
a breeder you are used to inquiries and info-requests from time to time
about the Sloughi-Race. Though, in early summer '99 there was a little
strange request about Sloughis by phone.
Some one looked for a Sloughi male-dog to be photographed for an "Art-Exhibition"
which should take place in Hamburg in summer 2000 named "Aussendienst".
For I have two male-dogs, I could promise the gentleman on the phone,
to place the dogs at his disposal for the photo-choice.
For a long time I didn't hear anything from him and the phone call was
forgotten, - but then another request came, whether I could come to Stuttgart
to a photo-appointment.
Then there was a delay again till October "99 and then I went on
a dull weekday with Husan and Hissar to my girlfriend to Stuttgart. At
two p.m. the photographing began and at six p.m. the dogs and myself were
worn out. To be a Model isn't easy, it's a tough job!
In summer 2000 I found a photo of Husan among my papers that was thought
for the Exhibition.
Now I wanted to know: Did the Exhibition take place and were my dogs on
the poster? At last I could place a phone call to the appropriate department.
They promised to send me a poster.
In
September 2000 I received an invitation from Hamburg for the opening ceremony
set the second stage of the Art-Exhibition, and if possible, to come with
both of my dogs.
Anyone who knows my dogs, knows that Husan is a "today" and
Hissar is a "stunt" and has a big "trap", that means
he likes to bark sometimes. I didn't like to go alone with the two animals.
So I asked a friend of mine to accompany me to that opening ceremony.
When we arrived the hall was crowded with Artists and guests and we in
the midst of all with our two dogs! After Husan and Hissar had been announced
and introduced as the "Shooting stars" they knew how to behave.
Never again have I seen Hissar as sovereign as at that evening. They were
the Stars without reservation. At midnight we left the festivity and went
home again.
Both posters of stage 1 and stage 2 I put into a suitable frame and hung
it on the wall of the entrance hall of my home.
