In April 1973 1 flew with my friend and 3 Collies to the CACIB-Exhibition to Rabat with the strong intention to take a Sloughi to my home. As luck would have it I found a Sloughi-Breeder and bought the male-dog "Vero del Ksiri (*29.07.1972). But very soon we decided to get a bitch for him.

Already in April I got in touch with the then President of the Club Marocain du Sloughi, Mr. Pascon, and he promised me to look for a good bitch for me. In September 1973 1 could together with Vero take deli very of the bitch Vassya d'Ouled Dlim (*12.09.72). At the same time I got the Standard-Drafting 188c and a Head-Study of the Sloughi, both of them were at the FCI and 1974 accepted for Morocco as the "Standard Leading" Country for the Sloughi-Breed.

Scarcely 3 weeks later, in October, I reported both the Sloughis and my Collie-Import from England for the Federal-Winner-Exhibition (then in Berlin). The Valuation for both of my Sloughis was disenchanting: Vero got "sufficient", Vassya "good"! If I hadn't had Exhibition Experiences with my Collie, this would have been my first and last.

In April 1974 there was an Exhibition again, this time in Casablanca. Now, both of my Sloughis were allowed to start in the Youth-Class and my Collie male-dog in the Open. The Collie-bitch, Boa, was with our friend in Meknes since April. We came home with the success "Ju-Sg Casablanca"! While staying on holidays in Meknes we reflected on an appropriate name of the kennel for our future whelps. Our friend Ali thought the name "Ahrar al Maghrib" = the "Nobles of Maghrib" suitable. When we were at home again in May, our Sloughi-family grew larger to five. I felt fortunate as I could take home to Germany 3 whelps from Mr. Pascon's bitch's litter "Vive des Oudaia" x "Utuk" (*31.01.75).

I received 2 Bitches (Xoute and Xety) and as a present the male-dog Xar from the then FCI President, Mr. Messaouden. In October 1974 finally the first Sloughi-Litter Vero x Vassya had come. For our family a complete change. In February 1975 1 had a Weekend stay and arranged that 4 Sloughis got a kennel in the Zoo of Temara during my holidays and the other 3 could stay in the hotel. Up to now we always took a flight with our dogs.

World-Winner 75, Morocco

This time I sat in my car solely with seven dogs towards Rabat to the World-Exhibition (1 Collie, 1 Sheltie, 5 Sloughis). Both, Vero and Vassya got the Vice-World-Winner-Title.

In October 1976 there was the second litter with Ahmed Ahrar al Maghrib x Xoute des Oudaia. From the seven whelps the 4 dogs Barry, Barka (later she went to the DDR), Basra and Badi were going to International Exhibitions.

1978 there were 2 incest litters. Barry x Barka Ahrar al Maghrib (brother x sister) and Ahmed Ahrar al Maghrib x Vassya d'Ouled Dlim (son x mother). At that time the "story" Muna and Luuk got to be known and I wanted to know how far my animals were bred unaffected. Both litters were in accordance with the Standard. Unfortunately, from the C-litter scarcely a whelp went to an Exhibition and from the D-litter only Djebel and Dakar internationally.
